During 2021, Ziedot.lv provided support totalling € 980,643 to 85 oncology patients, utilising donations from the general public and companies in Latvia. The situation is serious as the state medical system does not cover treatment of all types of cancers. The medicine and the treatments are available privately, but those affected have no means to cover the costs. The only hope for many cancer patients is donations from friends, family and the general public.
