We agree that the future of Ukraine is a free and democratic country in Europe and a member of NATO. Latvia is together with Ukraine until the occupied has been healed and Ukraine will be fully released. The Latvian society has provided tremendous support to both Ukrainian refugee families in Latvia and sending hundreds of humanitarian goods to Ukraine since 24 February last year, when the Russian army attacked Ukraine.
On 19 April 2023, Ziedot.lv visited the Chernigova district and the village of Yagidina, met with representatives of municipalities, viewed the horrors and misery of war. It also discussed the plan for reconstruction. The Ziedot.lv received thanks for the humanitarian aid provided, a humanitarian package for the Chernigov area was sent in April last year.
In providing support to Ukraine, the Ziedot.lv closely cooperates with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia and the Embassy of Latvia in Ukraine, a visit to Kiev with Latvian honorary consuls in the areas of Vinnicas, Slovjansk, Chernigov and Zaporižje, discussed existing cooperation, listened to the current needs. On 20 April 2023, the Ziedot.lv took part in the “City and Regions” summit, which discussed topics about the reconstruction of Ukraine, the national economy and the development of the communities.
