Latvian-Ukrainian musicians Katrīna Gupalo and Edgars Vilcāns, in cooperation with the society “Tavi Draugi”, call for the donation of a Ukrainian volunteer battle unit “Caucasus”, most of which are Ukrainian army soldiers who defend Ukraine by fighting in Donbas since 2014. The fighting unit “Caucasus” was created in 2022, and it operates in all war zones and is incorporated into Ukraine's self-defense forces. To protect Ukraine, they need two car radios, drones, soldier uniforms and rain ponchos.
Katrīna Gupalo and Edgars Vilcāns have already implemented, initiated and actively engaged in a number of aid for Ukraine projects, including the “SUV for Ukrainian actor - sniper”, the Latvian Radio charity project “Dod Pieci” (High Five!), the project “Latvia for Ukraine: Resistance” and the Osokins' Freedom Festival for Ukraine. Katrīna and Edgars, by creating new songs and concert programmes, want to inspire and motivate their listeners to continue to help Ukrainians in the fight for free Ukraine and Europe. Both musicians invite to donate to Ukrainian aid and give listeners throughout Latvia a concert programme called “This is the time” in which Latvian and Ukrainian songs for strength will be played.
The “Tavi Draugi” society will provide all necessary and deliver it to the battle unit.
