Oscars was born by a normal delivery, although it was necessary to have a caesarean section. As a result the newborn had a brain hemorrhage and the first half of the year of his life he spent in hospitals. The results of the hard delivery are the following: cerebral palsy, sensory neuropathy, low vision (one eye is blind) and movement disorders. A lot of efforts have been invested into the boy's health strengthening.
Now he is 16 years old and studies in Form 8 at comprehensive school. As far as it is possible, Oscar lives a full life - he likes to sing and dance, but due to his movement disorders, the guy cannot fulfill his dream completely. During the latest years Oscar has grown very fast and, taking into consideration his diagnosis, the bone deformities of his legs have started, and it means walking problems. This year in February the family asked the orthopedic department of ZiNa clinic (Czech Republic) to evaluate this situation. During this consultation it was recommended to perform a surgery for both legs, which would give the possibility for the bones to grow without any additional deformity and it would make Oscar's gait and posture better.
ZiNa clinic cooperates with the specialists who use Ulzibat method in their work and this method is not available in Latvia. It allows bones to develop without any pathology. An intubation anesthesia is not used during the surgery and the after-surgery period is not so complicated as when using some other methods. Already after one month after the surgery the child can start rehabilitation.
It is preferable to hold the operation as soon as possible, because Oscar's fast growth negatively influences the condition of the bones and with a help of the surgery it is possible to avoid it. The time of the operation is arranged for the 15th of April. Due to the reason that Oscar's mother brings him up alone, she is not able to get this amount of money. The cost of the surgery in this Czech's clinic and rehabilitation is 6000 Euro.
