Dāvids is three years old. At the age of one, he was diagnosed with spastic tertraparesis. The cause of the disease here in Latvia was “unknown”.
In Ukraine, a diagnosis was provided – dysplasia of two vertebrae, a birth trauma.
Dāvids has motor development problems. Currently, he can sit and is learning to crawl, but is not walking yet. In 2007 in Dnipropetrovska, the correct adjustment of the vertebrae was performed and after that a special massage course for strengthening the spine was performed two more times.
In July 2008, Dāvids went to Odessa together with his parents for a 10-day acupuncture course that provided new results in the development of the boy’s movements.
In Liepāja, Dāvids visits a physiotherapist, Reitertherapy (horse riding therapy) and a massage course.
Otherwise Dāvids is very well developed. He recognizes letters and numbers and can count to 30.
He speaks very well. He knows many fairy tales. Has learnt basic computer skills and is learning to type.
He needs to continue rehabilitation: in Truskavets, Ukraine, at Professor Kazjavkins’ Clinic, the massage course in Dnipropetrovska for strengthening the spine and the acupuncture therapy courses in Odessa. The needed amount is LVL 1 500.
Dāvids’ treatment is covered by his parents’ funds, but support from contributors is needed to cover the travel expenses when travelling for treatment courses. The family really hopes for the support of contributors to help their son recover!
