Rolands is three years old. As a result of birth trauma, he has organic brain damage, microcefaly, spastic tetraparesis, and psychomotor development delay.
Rolands has already been to Ukraine to the International Clinic of Rehabilitation, where, according to his mother, his health significantly improved: Rolands was able to concentrate better, tone was decreased and he is more stable on his feet and has learnt to be more independent. His mother says: "After the rehabilitation, Rolands shows very positive results. He is beginning to understand that he has legs and what he can do with them. He has become more attentive, is showing more interest in the surrounding world. He is sitting up more and for longer time periods and the tension in his hands and legs has decreased.”
As the results are obvious, Rolands’ parents would like to provide their child with repeated rehabilitation courses; the family has also decided to have stem cell transplants performed at the Immunotherapy Centre in Novosibirsk (Russia). Unfortunately, they are not able to gather the required funds themselves.
For more information about Rolands, please contact his mother, Liāna Briede, by calling +371 27093222 or by writing .
