Russian army has destroyed lives, homes and families of Ukrainians. Childhood of Ukrainian children has been stolen. Fathers have stayed in Ukraine to protect their motherland while mothers with children have left their homes to become refugees thousands of kilometers away. They need to build their life in Latvia from scratch. Temporary housing, temporary work, temporary school and friends. It all comes together with uncertainty if there ever will be a chance to go back to Ukraine. And if they can- will there be a home to return to?
Although many Ukrainian families lives in Latvia since spring, that feeling of uncertainty has stayed. Without permanent and stable work, income, you cannot plan your future. In addition- autumn season is coming closer bringing higher costs for school suplies, food, utility bills and daily expenses. Ukrainian families will need our help to cover all these costs.
From society donations Ziedot.lv has been able to provide practical help to Ukrainian refugees since the first weeks of the war. We invite you to keep supporting Ukrainian families. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD Community Initiative) will triple* every donation from June 21, 2022 to December 20, 2022!
Donations will be used for social assistance, medical treatment, medication payment, dentistry and other acute needs that are not covered by state or local government funding.
