At present, the war in Ukraine has moved, perhaps, in a crucial phase. In the clashes with the aggressor there are many wounded and many fatalities. The society "Bruņotava" is committed to fulfill the request of the Ukrainian defenders to acquire the first assistance kits (IFAK – Individual First aid Kit) for the maintenance of injuries and for saving lives specifically in the military conflict zones.
The first aid kit must be available to each medical officer, paramedical and soldier. At present, they are only at the disposal of each fourth Ukrainian defender, but such kit is crucial for the rescuing of wounded every day in this cruel war. In addition to the tourniquets, bandages and the elastic bandage wraps, each kit also includes hemostatic gauze, pulmonary patch with valve, nasopharyngeal tube with lubricant for airway release, decompression needle for air pressure alleviation in the lungs, space blanket, nitrile medical gloves, scissors with titanium cover, markers for markings on the wounded flesh, or on the treated wound bandages. The price of one such kit is EUR 130.
Unfortunately, everyone cannot go to Ukraine and stand opposite the intruders in the war field, but everyone can help to heal acute wounds for those who have been living for the second year with the conscience that every day may be the last. We must not forget that the greedy eastern neighbour has never been indifferent to the Baltic States, so it must be understood that Ukrainian troops protect not only their national freedom but also our security. We therefore call on the people of Latvia to donate for the purchase of life-saving rescue complects, which the society “Bruņotava" will bring to the war-torn country. The volunteers of the Society have met with Ukrainian soldiers many times and know that the people and troops of Ukraine appreciate and thank for every donated euro from a Latvian citizen.
