In solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who were forced to flee due to Russian hostilities, "High five!" this year invited the public to support the Ukrainian children who arrived in Latvia. About 35 thousand Ukrainian refugees are currently in Latvia. According to the estimates of the Ministry of the Interior, approximately 31% of all Ukrainian refugees in Latvia are children.
The funds donated during the marathon through the project partner - the charity organization Ziedot.lv have gone to the Emergency Aid Fund to provide direct assistance for the basic needs of Ukrainian refugee children in Latvia - for the purchase of school supplies and computers, health improvement and psychological support, winter shoes, clothing and other acute matters . As every year, 100% of the funds donated in the charity marathon this year will be dedicated to the purpose of the donation.
