Report 21.09.2009
Vītols Fund, scholarship holders and their families express their gratitude for cooperation in the implementation of the foundation’s goal – to provide capable, devoted young people from low-income families with scholarships for studying at a university in Latvia.
From 8 September, 2008, to 28 January, 2009, LVL 4 817.00 were donated to the project Friends Scholarship.
These scholarships, which were granted to four young people in the time period from 1 February, 2009, to 1 February, 2010, were named after the Ziedot.lv Friends Scholarship. The amount of the scholarship is LVL 1 300. The missing sum in the amount of LVL 383 will be supplemented by the Vītols Fund from its own funds.
During the summer months of July and August, scholarships will not be paid.
We have received several letters of appreciation:
Scholarship holder addresses the contributors:
”From time to time, every one of us wonders about the past year, about people who are important in our lives, about the events we have experienced, about what we have accomplished and what we still haven’t managed to do, as well as about life in general… Then gratitude breaks from the depth of my heart, for such good people with open souls, who have helped me and who selflessly give part of themselves to others, so that also their hearts would feel some warmth.
And it is you, my dear contributor, whom I cannot stop and will never stop to express my gratitude to for supporting me. Thank you!”
Mother of four, Santa:
"Hello! I am turning to you with my great appreciation. Good deeds also deserved some words, which bring joy to the heart for the good that you have done.
When my children started their studies1 September, I was afraid of the day when I would have to explain to them that I can no longer afford to send them to school. I prayed to God for strength and hope, which I placed in your scholarship. Deep in my heart, belief gave strength in the fight for living.
After the pleasant news about receiving the scholarship, I could not hold back my tears of joy because I had almost lost all hope. Even now it is hard to concentrate and to write down coherent words of gratitude. I would like to wish you the best of health, which is the most important thing in life.
Thank you for supporting the schooling of children in these hard times.
In closing I would like to express my extreme gratitude to your association, in which responsive, understanding and kind people are working. May you have the strength to continue! Good luck!”
Scholarship holder:
"Dear Vītols Fund employees and contributors!
I was honoured to receive the approval of the scholarship today. I have to say this message made me think of a birthday present. And I am truly happy about it. The money received will provide me material support, as well as will give me the opportunity to buy the items necessary for my studies – books and stationery – which I might not always be able to afford. I would therefore like to express my immense gratitude to all the noble people who donated money in the portal Ziedot.lv, thus helping me move forward and fulfil my dreams.
‘The impossible is possible, if you believe it.’
This is proof to the fact that everything that happens, happens for the best."
