The Russian army is destroying Ukrainian cities, people's homes and schools every day. The Ukrainian Penitentiary Academy is working in emergency situation, as another attack by the Russian army on the city of Chernihiv has destroyed part of the academy's buildings, where young students study and live in dormitories. Despite the attacks and the destroyed buildings, the academy continues to work, because educational institutions in Ukraine are a symbol of resilience and determination to continue educating future generations, despite the devastation caused by war.
Although the academy has made great efforts to continue its educational work, the current resources are insufficient to fully renovate the building and maintain the necessary academic standards. International support is needed and very important!
The Latvian Probation Service and RTU Liepaja Academy have taken on the role of patron and are calling for help in restoring the Ukrainian Academy of Corrections! The opportunity to obtain a quality education is important even in wartime. The education provided at the Ukrainian Academy of Corrections is very important for the reconstruction of the country and the development of future professionals.
